🌟 Join Us for a Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service! 🌟DDUUC's Social Action Committee invites you to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by participating in a Day of Service filled with meaningful volunteer activities!
💡 Volunteer Stations Include:
-Rolling silverware for TASK (Trenton Area Soup Kitchen)
-Making t-shirt bags for Project Bolsa
-Crafting cat toys for Bordentown City Cats
-Special projects with Gail Force Winds
-Making blankets for Project Linus
✨ Donation Drives:
We're collecting items to support our community:
1. DDUUC’s Walk-Up Blessing Box (located in front of our building): any non-perishable food & hygiene products
2. DDUUC’s Motel Meals Program:
Bottled waters, Cup of Noodles, non-perishable microwavable meals, individual cups of applesauce, toddler purees, and individually wrapped/bagged desserts (store-bought or homemade)
3. Trinity Church Food Pantry:
-Canned fruits, veggies, and meats (chicken, tuna, etc.)
-Pasta, pasta sauce, rice, mac & cheese
-Peanut butter & jelly
-Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, sugar
-Non-refrigerated juice, cookies, crackers, and snacks
-Condiments (mustard, ketchup, mayo)
-Hygiene products (toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, soap).
5. Additional Collections:
-Soda tabs for Ronald McDonald House
-Puzzles for Bordentown Library
-Dry cat food for Bordentown City Cats
🔔 Important Notes:
*All non-perishable donations must be sealed and unexpired.
*Homemade desserts can be frozen for future use.
💪 Looking for Volunteers:
We could use help with setup and cleanup! Please contact Kara DeRose, [email protected], 609-977-8012 if you’re interested in helping. This is a fantastic opportunity for local teens to earn volunteer hours. Even if they can't help with set up/clean up, they can pop in anytime between 12-4pm to help roll silverware, etc and that will still count towards volunteer time.
