An immersive event where you and your family will discover nature's vast physical and mental health opportunities.
About this Event

October 12th, 12:00 pm through October 13th, 12:00 pm.

Campsites 118, 119, and 120 in the Prairie Clover campground.

Join D. "Jonas" Jr., a leading local youth and family coach, helping solve the challenges of youth physical, mental, and emotional stagnation by getting kids outdoors, where they naturally thrive and choose the life they dream of.

We'll spend one day and night in the woods, a shared experience that fosters a strong sense of community. This getaway is perfect for both novice and seasoned campers. Throughout the event, you and your family will be encouraged to realize your place in the outdoors as a gateway to a wealth of physical and mental health benefits, all while forming lasting connections with other families.

Upon your arrival, everyone will set up their tents, create a community fire space, and prepare for evening events. Get ready for a hands-on learning experience about basic camp safety and essential fire-starting and survival tools. Every camper will receive three pocket-size tools for outdoor safety, adding to the excitement of learning new skills.

Adults and supervised kids can bring pocket knives, hatchets, and small saws for firewood, kindling, and shaping a walking stick.

A short hike will take us to the lake shore, where everyone will have a chance to learn the subtle effects of calming water and a grounding atmosphere. Kids thrive in these conditions, learning to embrace the earth closer, and will be challenged to acknowledge their human bodies and their place in society.

We'll cook our meals on Saturday afternoon, explore the setting sun, and spend the evening in a community festivity. Be prepared to dig deep and share with the group. This is a time for fun, laughter, and making memories that will last a lifetime.

Rising the following morning, we'll explore the fantastic physical and mental benefits of the rising sun, eat our breakfast together, participate in a special surprise activity, and help you create something to take home and add to your scrapbooks of time and memories. Every activity will center on personal self-love and commitment to discovering our physical, mental, and emotional health outdoors.

Join us. Sit with the animals, the soil, and the trees. Practice simple acts that connect us to ourselves and the earth we are born to. Watch the sky pass overhead and affirm your human place in it all. You'll go home and see the busy world with new, shining eyes, a broader view, and a deeper connection to the earth, giving you the confidence to live the thriving life you dream of.

Spaces are filling up fast. Don't miss out, register today!

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING. This campsite is TENTS ONLY.

$5 per vehicle park entrance fee.

Bring food for Saturday's dinner. Keep it simple. Options can include cold food, prepared sandwiches, fresh fruit and nuts, and pre-cooked camp food that can easily be warmed over the community fire, your camp cook stove, or a small charcoal grill. If you have friends attending, please feel free to share some of these items.

Plan on washing your dishes at a wash station we will set up at the campsite.

Bring snacks for Saturday's hikes and anything you want for the campfire later in the evening (s'mores, marshmallows, etc.).

Each person can bring a water bottle or hydration vest. Water spigots will be available within walking distance to fill water bottles, tote bladders, and coolers. Please avoid bringing bottled water. Sodas, energy, and sports drinks should also be avoided.

Bring flashlights and headlamps for after-dark bathroom trips and our walk back after sundown. Make sure your batteries are fresh.

Bring food and beverages for Sunday breakfast. Common camping breakfast foods are fruit, nuts, granola and yogurt, coffee, cocoa, cooked eggs, oatmeal, and anything else you want to try. Be sure to stay hydrated along the way.

Lawn chairs, tree-to-tree hammocks, and Yoga mats will all come in handy at the campsite—especially Yoga mats.

Bring a tent to sleep in, ground pads, foam pads, or air mattresses, your favorite pillows, and bedding. It will likely be cold overnight.

Bring your toothbrush, hygiene articles, medications, bath towels, wipes, and small trash bags.

Bring layers of clothing for all weather. Any weather is possible in October.

Bring a rain Slicker or Poncho. This camp-out will take place RAIN OR SHINE.

Wear closed-toed shoes with good tread. You'll be hiking a lot on easy trails.

Bring snacks for the drive home at the 11:30 am checkout time.

Call me, text, or email with any questions; I'm here to help and want your family to have a meaningful, and valuable experience.
