Take an introductory look at Manx Crosses while experimenting with a range of creative techniques.This a 3 week course running on 17th April, 24th April and 1st May.
We will have two workshop based sessions and one week going to see the Crosses up-close.
Week 1 - Friday 17th April - Creative Introduction to Manx Crosses. 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM, Onchan Parish Hall
Week one will start with an introduction to Manx Crosses, how they spanned multiple distinct historical periods and cultural timelines. Our tutor will guide you in a range of creative techniques, including charcoal, pencils and soft pastels, to help us connect with the Crosses and design our own creative piece.
Week 2 - Friday 24th April - Inspiration Excursion
1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, St Peter's Church, Onchan
In week two we will meet at St Peter's Church and take a close up look at the Manx Crosses on display there and learn more about the symbolism featured on them. We'll have time to sketch and learn more creative techniques to help us create our Manx Cross creative piece.
Week 3 - Creating our Final Piece
2:00 PM - 4:30 PM, Onchan Parish Hall
We will be back at Onchan Parish Hall for our final creative session, using the inspiration gathered from week two to finalise our Manx Cross creative piece.
