A multi-Grammy Award-winning musician whose career spans more than seven decades, Rush has blended blues, soul, funk, and R&B into a distinctive style that earned him the title “King of the Chitlin’ Circuit.” Widely recognized as one of Mississippi’s most influential blues ambassadors, he is a member of the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame and is honored with a marker on the Mississippi Blues Trail in Jackson. Rush is also the subject of the new documentary "King of the Chitlin’ Circuit," which chronicles his remarkable life and career and is scheduled to air on Mississippi Public Broadcasting this August.
