The Reformation's return to Sola Scriptura was a return to the ultimate authority of God's Word. Many of the major Reformed confessions include complete listings of the Old and New Testament Canon for a significant purpose. Why? Because if God's Word has ultimate authority, then one needs to know which books are from God and which aren't, which can bind consciences and which can not.Join us this September 27-28 as we explore how Christians, especially the Reformed, have recognized and identified what is and what is not Holy Scripture at the 2024 Prince George's Conference on Reformed Theology, A Confident Canon: Identifying the Word of God. Miles Van Pelt, Stephen Wellum, and Stephen Fix will examine issues of canonization for both the Old and New Testaments, the exclusion of the Apocrypha, Scripture's self-authenticating nature, and the role of the Canon within the life of a local church.
