OC/Hanoi born classical pianist Hoang Nguyen & LA/Sydney based concert pianist Van-Anh Nguyen in an intimate two-piano classical concert
A classical duo program of Chopin, Piazzolla, Lutoslawski & More, done with a twist.
The concert is 75 minutes with no intermission.
Doors open 6:30 pm and concert commences strictly at 7:00 pm.

VAN-ANH NGUYEN - PIANO
ARIA nominated concert pianist and Universal/Decca/Deutsche Grammophon recording artist Van-Anh Nguyen is a worldwide sensation and in-demand artist. She has had several ARIA & iTunes chart toppers and became the first Australian-Vietnamese to ever in history enter the US iTunes Classical Charts.
Born to Vietnamese refugee musicians and having started piano studies at the tender age of 13 months old, Australian born concert pianist gave her Sydney Opera House debut at age 8.
Her bubbly contagious personality and emotive playing has graced the stages as a soloist across Australia at venues including the Sydney Opera House, City Recital Hall, the Forbidden City Concert Hall (China), the Shanghai Oriental Arts Centre (China), Segerstrom Performing Arts Center (LA), Herbst Theater (SF). She regularly guests with the Ho Chi Minh City Symphony Orchestra (HCMC, Vietnam) and Vietnamese American Philharmonic Orchestra (California, USA).
Her ability to perform classically as well as have the stage flair for creative classical-crossover arranging and mash ups has allowed her to perform for such brands as Cartier, Moet & Chandon, Tiffany & Co, Porsche, Barons de Rothschild, the Patron Secret Society, Fairfax & Roberts, Vicki Lee Gallery, Ferrari to name a few.
Van-Anh currently has 10 albums released on all major digital music outlets with her most recent release on Deutsche Grammophon. Van-Anh has been featured across various publications including L’Officiel Magazine, Elle Magazine Vietnam, Sunday Life, Marie Claire Australia and Harper’s Bazaar Magazine as a music icon and she has had her own TV show on Discovery Channel Asia.
Her versatility as a pianist allows her to collaborate across genres, having toured and performed with internet sensations TwoSet Violin, soul singer Ronee Martin (Quarter Finalist America’s Got Talent 2016, backup singer for Patti La Belle), classical violinist Filip Pogady, Reigan Derry (Sony Music Australia, ARIA Platinum Artist) through to being a recording solo pianist for various composers as well as writing for other artists.
She is also one half of Double Touch, a melodic house duo blending live instrumentation with electronic beats. They are signed to All Day I Dream and have performed across the globe at Brooklyn Mirage (NYC), Scorpios (Mykonos), Cova Santa (Ibiza), OMNIA (Bali, Indonesia), Return to Rio Festival (NSW, Australia), San Francisco Golden Gate Park (SF, USA) and have released on labels including All Day I Dream, TrybesOf, Buddha Bar and Ministry of Sound.
Van-Anh is the creator and owner of Perfect Pairings, a concert concept where she pairs music to wine. This concept has appeared across 6 countries, working with various vineyards, sommeliers and chefs and has subsequently led to her, launching her own wine.

HOANG NGUYEN - PIANO
Dr. Hoang Nguyen is a Vietnamese-American concert pianist, jazz musician, and music educator based in Orange County, California. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Claremont Graduate University, where he studied under Dr. Grace Fong and Dr. Stewart Gordon. Since 2013, Dr. Nguyen has been a faculty member at Santa Ana College, teaching applied music, class piano, and keyboard harmonization. He is frequently invited as a guest lecturer for piano workshops and graduate seminars at California State University, Fullerton and serves as an adjudicator for MTAC Theme Festivals, Cal State Fullerton Concerto Competition, IAPMT, and Satori Summer Piano Competitions. In addition to his collegiate teaching, he oversees two thriving private studios in Anaheim Hills and Garden Grove, mentoring hundreds of students.
Dr. Nguyen has performed internationally at renowned venues such as Cité des Arts in Paris, Basilica de St. Pedro in Perugia, Hanoi Opera House, and Musco Performing Arts Center. His chamber music engagements have taken him to the Brown Foundation Performing Arts Center in Houston, Chopin High School of the Arts in Bytom, Lausanne University, and Bangkok’s Goethe Institute. As a soloist, he has performed with orchestras including the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, Perugia Il Solisti Orchestra, CSUF Symphony Orchestra, Fullerton College Symphony Orchestra, Vietnamese-American Philharmonic, and Rio Hondo Symphony Orchestra. A passionate advocate for chamber music and two-piano repertoire, he has collaborated with esteemed artists such as violinist Eliot Lawson, cellist Eru Matsumoto, soprano Sangeeta Kaur, and pianists Eduardo Delgado, Jungwon Jin, and Ning An.
Born in Hanoi, Vietnam, Dr. Nguyen began his musical training at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, where he won second prize at the Autumn National Competition and made his orchestral debut at age 13, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23, K. 488 with the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra. He continued his studies at the Conservatory of Versailles, France with Professor Désiré N’Kaoua, then at the Conservatory of Paris (CRR de Paris) under Professor Olivier Gardon. After earning a Premier Prix in Paris, he received the Dean’s Scholarship to study at Indiana University, Bloomington with Professor Evelyne Brancart. He later completed his Master’s Degree at California State University, Fullerton, where he was a recipient of the Alicia de Larrocha Scholarship and served as teaching assistant to Professor Eduardo Delgado until his retirement. He also received coaching from Chopin Competition winner Dang Thai Son and participated in masterclasses with Menahem Pressler and Gary Graffman. Dr. Nguyen was the Grand Prize Winner of the California State University, Fullerton Concerto Competition and a finalist in the Franz Liszt Los Angeles International Competition.
In addition to his classical career, Dr. Nguyen is an accomplished jazz pianist, having studied improvisation with Grammy Award-winning pianist Bill Cunliffe. He has performed in jazz clubs across Southern California and has been featured in interviews on Vietnamese national and international media, including VTV1, VTV6, SBTN, Saigon TV, and Vietface TV.
Dr. Nguyen is a founding member and core musician of VASCAM (Vietnamese American Society for Creative Arts and Music), an organization dedicated to promoting Vietnamese Art Music.
