About this Event
Join us for a special Black History Month networking event hosted by the University of Maine School of Law, the Black Law Students Association, and The Third Place. This event highlights the importance of fostering meaningful connections between aspiring Black lawyers and Maine’s broader BIPOC community.
Now located in downtown Portland, Maine Law has become the school of choice for several Black students pursuing careers in the legal field. The Black Law Students Association and Maine Law are committed to ensuring that these students feel a strong sense of belonging in the local community—connections that are essential for their success as students and as future professionals who choose to live and work in Maine.
This event is an opportunity to:
- Welcome and show support for Black law students at UMaine.
- Build connections between students and other BIPOC professionals across Maine.
- Explore opportunities in the legal field.
- Reflect on the historical and ongoing contributions of Black lawyers to their communities.
Catering will be provided, and a cash bar will be available.
Celebrate Black History Month with us and help strengthen the pipeline of Black legal professionals in Maine!
This networking opportunity is open to professionals and college students who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and members of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce. Non-legal professionals and students are encouraged to attend.
