I want to personally invite YOU to what I consider one of my life’s works.
THE CEDAR JOURNEY is a dance musical that I wrote, directed, choreographed, and starred in.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve carried a deep desire to tell the story of my childhood immigration to the mainland United States—the pain, the displacement, the longing. Words often failed me. But dance, spoken word, music, and theatre have always given me a voice when language could not.
When I met the Haddad and Mitri families and began spending time in Lebanon, something profound happened. Through lived experience, I discovered deep cultural and emotional parallels between Lebanese culture and my own—different countries, yet strikingly similar customs, values, and wounds. That shared experience made me feel seen. It healed something deep within me.
Lebanon will forever be the place God used to help me find myself.
So when the attacks on Lebanon began, my heart shattered with every strike—terrified of losing the land that helped make me whole again. I did the only thing I knew how to do.
I gave Lebanon my voice.
Through this work, we raised $7,500 in just four weeks for the Lebanese Red Cross to support those who were displaced.
I wrote THE CEDAR JOURNEY to tell my immigration story—interwoven with real moments I experienced in Lebanon—to honor and illuminate the story of the Diaspora. What I learned through this process is simple and powerful:
The Lebanese immigration story is all of our Diaspora story.
This production has been a true labor of love—born from unity, artistry, collaboration, and community. I am deeply grateful to the Lebanon American Club of Danbury, who believed in this vision from the very beginning and took on the immense role of producer to help bring this work to life. The support and blessing of the Lebanese Church has further anointed the success of this mission.
Because of the overwhelming response, we have been asked for an encore performance.
✨ THE CEDAR JOURNEY returns to the stage on February 21st. ✨
Please save the date and join us—alongside the Middle Eastern Dance Academy of Connecticut, New England dancers, musicians, and members of the Lebanese community—who gave their time, talent, and hearts because they connected with this story.
I would be truly honored to have you there.
