Join us for an inspiring evening of film and reflection with a screening of A Case for Love at the Co-Ed Cinema in Brevard, N.C., April 14 at 6:30 PM. This thought-provoking documentary, inspired by the teachings of Bishop Michael Curry, explores whether unselfish love holds the key to bridging the deep societal and political divides of our time. Known for his passionate sermon on "The Power of Love" at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Bishop Curry offers a compelling context for the stories and insights shared in the film.
To explore the film’s themes in greater depth, the Center will offer two opportunities to discuss the film. After the in-person screening, we will gather at 8:30 at Canto 34 for an optional 1-hour discussion facilitated by Becca Perry-Hill from Lumunos. The discussion will include the question, “How can I act on what I’ve heard and seen in this film?”
A Case for Love showcases compelling interviews with everyday people and renowned figures such as Al Roker and actor Sam Waterston, alongside voices from across the political spectrum. This inspiring film delves into the transformative power of selfless love, exploring its impact on crucial issues like racial justice, sexual identity, military service, foster care, food justice, and more.
