A Cappella & Unplugged Open Mic @ Berg Brewing Co.

Bring your talent to Berg Brewing Company at 100 S Main St, Chambersburg, PA 17201 Friday, May 15th! This is where you start your journey to a $500 grand prize and a chance to perform before thousands at the 1864 Burning & Rebirth of Chambersburg on July 18th, 2026. Performers are recommended to arrive at least 30 minutes early. The open mic will begin at 7:00pm!

Guidelines:

• 2 Song, 10 Minute Set Time
• Lyrical/musical content must be friendly to all ages (no curse words, violence, drug references, or explicit lyrics. Contact Evan for clarification)
• Lyrics must carry melody (Spoken word/rapped lyrics are excluded)
• Performers must either perform solo or in a group (no splitting performances)
• Performances must either be A Cappella or unplugged (no amplification, no microphones, no electronics, no backing tracks)
• Instruments must be portable enough to be carried/held (no full drum kits, pianos, wheeled instruments)
• Be respectful to all performers
• IF AN ACT MOVES ONTO ROUND 1, the act CANNOT add accompanists or change line up (both for solo AND band/group)

THIS EVENT IF FREE TO THE PUBLIC. If you can carry your instrument(s) onstage or your voice is your instrument, you can participate! Instruments MUST BE unplugged (Instruments that require power or amplification are prohibited). Bring your friends and family to watch you perform. The more friends and family to support you, the louder they can cheer.

How A Cappella & Unplugged Open Mic Works: The open mics serve as an auditioning event for the competition. The chosen acts of each open mic are guaranteed a Round 1 performance slot, onstage at the Capitol Theatre on June 19th. Up to 20 acts are invited to Round One at the Capitol Theatre in June. A panel of judges select the top acts to move onto the Final Round along with a People's Choice (if the people's choice act has not already been passed on by judges panel) The People's Choice winner also receives a prize of $100!

On July 18th, the selected finalists will perform on the Court House Plaza in Downtown Chambersburg in front of a live audience, where attendees are invited to vote on who is the winner of the competition! When the winner receives the grand prize, they will perform one last song right before the 1864 Burning of Chambersburg.
