Curious about birdwatching but not sure where to start? Join us for a beginner-friendly guide to birding with Joe Francis, a retired physician, public health professional, and passionate naturalist.
As President of the Delaware Ornithological Society, Joe leads a community dedicated to the study and conservation of birds and their habitats. He regularly guides birding trips throughout Wilmington, helping people connect with nature and experience its many health benefits. Whether you’re looking to spot your first bird or deepen your appreciation for the natural world, this discussion will provide tips, insights, and local resources to get you started!

In addition to the discussion, all attendees are invited to a guided birding field trip at Brandywine Park on May 3 at 8 AM. Meet at the zoo parking area by the river and put your new skills to the test with Joe as your guide!
