Itinerary:
Day 1: Home to Sydney
Welcome aboard as we begin our journey south for a wonderful getaway! Departing Port Bus at approximately 7:15am, with final times to be confirmed, we commence our passenger pickups before settling in for a comfortable day of travel.
Our first stop will be Wade Park at Bulahdelah, arriving around 9:15am. This relaxed morning tea break is the perfect opportunity to stretch the legs, enjoy a cuppa, and catch up with fellow travellers before we continue our way.
From here, we make our way further south, following the “yellow brick road” towards beautiful Lake Macquarie. At Booragul, we join NOVA Cruises – Lake Macquarie for our 12:00pm departure. Sit back, relax, and enjoy time on the water as we take in the scenic surrounds of one of Australia’s largest coastal saltwater lakes.
After our cruise, we continue into Sydney, arriving at The Great Southern Hotel at approximately 5:00pm. Once checked in, there will be time to settle into your room and freshen up before we meet for dinner onsite at The Great Southern Bar at 6:30pm.
After dinner, the evening is yours to enjoy at leisure. Whether you choose to relax at the hotel or take a gentle stroll nearby, it is the perfect way to ease into our Sydney stay.
Day 2: Sydney to Home
Enjoy breakfast this morning before taking some time at leisure to make the most of your Sydney stay. You may like to enjoy a slower start with a sleep in, take a stroll to Darling Harbour, or wander through World Square for a little shopping and browsing.
Please ensure you are ready to reboard the coach at 10:15am, when we depart the hotel and make our way across to Pyrmont. Once we arrive, there will be further free time before our 1:00pm showtime. This is a great opportunity to explore the nearby area at your own pace. Attractions close by include The Star Casino, the Australian National Maritime Museum, and a wonderful selection of cafés and restaurants.
As our next meal stop will not be until this evening at Heatherbrae, we recommend enjoying brunch or lunch during your free time in Pyrmont.
Following the show, we aim to depart Sydney at approximately 4:00pm and begin our journey home. We plan to arrive at Heatherbrae around 6:00pm, where there will be time to purchase dinner at your own cost. From here, we continue north with a comfort stop at Taree South Service Centre before making our way back to Port Macquarie.
Our estimated arrival back into Port Macquarie is approximately 9:30pm, bringing our Sydney theatre getaway to a close with wonderful memories of our time away.
