About this Event

A Bay Ridge Historical Walking Tour of Green-Wood Cemetery

Join historian Henry Stewart (How Bay Ridge Became Bay Ridge, True Crime Bay Ridge) on a tour of the final resting places of many of the most important figures in Bay Ridge history, including James Weir (who came up with the name "Bay Ridge"), Henry Murphy and Eliphalet Bliss (whose estates became Owl's Head Park), Fred Cocheu (father of the R train), Albert Johnson (whose house became Fontbonne), Howard and Jessie Jones (who built the Gingerbread House), and more!

PLEASE NOTE: This is a walking tour. We will cover a few miles, sometimes on unpaved and uneven terrain. Wear sturdy, comfortable shoes, and bring water. We will meet at the arch at the main entrance to the cemetery on 25th Street. This event is rain or shine. In the event of torrential rain, we will find a new date.
