9th Annual Pineapple Gala

The 9th Annual Pineapple Gala is an event hosted by the Penn State Meetings and Events Club which raises funds to be donated back to the School of Hospitality Management (SHM) THON organization. "THON is a student-run philanthropy committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer. THON provides emotional and financial support, spreads awareness, and ensures funding for critical research—all in pursuit of a cure."

The Penn State Meetings and Events Club is a student organization within the School of Hospitality Management. We are student chapters of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and Meeting Professionals International (MPI). Our executive board represents Penn State at PCMA Convening Leaders in Houston, Texas, where we have the opportunity to network, collaborate, and engage with industry professionals within the event industry. As an organization we engage in the hospitality industry by volunteering for events within our local community, networking with professionals in the industry, and planning our annual Pineapple Gala.

During the fall semester, as a club we divide into different committees such as Food & Beverage, Event Production, Fundraising, and Marketing to plan the 9th Annual Pineapple Gala.
