9th Annual "We'll Leave Our Lights On" Food Drive
Wednesday November 18th 5pm to 7pm Church of the Holy Cross
Ending hunger in Reno County isn’t a job for one church or one organization. It takes a group, a group of friends who believe that together we make a difference. For the ninth year in a row, there will be a countywide Thanksgiving Food Drive. Sanctuary lights will be left on in nineteen participating churches to collect donations for the annual “We’ll Leave Our Lights On” food drive.
Volunteers will be waiting at the west entrance of Holy Cross for “driving up and dropping off” donations from 5 to 7 PM.
Suggested items include ramen noodles, pancake mix and syrup, pastas, peanut butter, jelly, mac and cheese, boxed cereal and instant oatmeal, canned vegetables, canned meats, canned fruits, tomato and chicken noodle soup, instant mashed potatoes, and instant rice.
Food items gathered will be used to refill the shelves in the St. Vincent de Paul pantry and will be shared with the Reno County Food Bank. Over the past 8 years we have witnessed the growth of this campaign to end hunger in Reno County. Thank you for joining us again as together we offer “sufficiency with dignity” to those in need.
