Athens Community Theatre (ACT) is pleased to present the smash Broadway hit based on the 1980 movie with music by Dolly Parton, 9 to 5: The Musical. The show is directed by Tyler Peaden with music directed by Matthew Crabtree. Show dates for 9 to 5: The Musical are April 3 - 13, 2025. Leading the cast is ACT alum, Traci McKenzie, in the role immortalized by Dolly Parton: Doralee. She is joined by fellow ACT veterans Melonie Carideo, as Violet; Kelly Borwick, as Roz; and Troy Jelly as Tinsworthy. ACT Veteran Bob Borwick plays the villainous Franklin Hart. Newcomer Jamie Hays steps out as Judy.
Making their ACT debut as supporting cast are Elizabeth Axley, as Kathy, and Ava Wilson, as Margaret. They are joined by ACT veterans Michael Webb, as Joe; Emma Hester, as Maria; and Jimmy Jacobs, as Dick; as well as returning ACT members Matthieu Riojas, as Josh; Rachel Brannen, as Missy; and Thomas Harris, as Dwayne.
The ensemble includes newcomers Brian Reynolds, Jan Brown, Kelby Stillwell, Rayleigh Hawkins, Skylar Roush, and Summer Poteet. They are joined by returning ACT members Amanda Reynolds and Brant Helms, as well as ACT veterans Cashton McConkey, Emily Offutt, Kathryn L. Hunter, Lindsey Kimball, and Zyan Kirkland.
The production team includes Executive Producer, Lauren Brown; Stage Manager, Christen Webb; and Rehearsal Accompanist, Ellen Kimball.
9 to 5: The Musical is the next installment of Athens Community Theatre’s Mainstage 2024 - 2025 season. Show dates and times are Thursday - Saturday, April 3 - 5 and 10 - 12 at 7:00 PM, and Sunday April 6 and 13 at 2:00 PM. Prices for ACT tickets range from $15 to $25. Patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets early, as ACT events tend to sell out on, or before, the performance date. Tickets for 9 to 5: The Musical go on sale February 13.
Athens Community Theatre Mainstage offers patrons musical and straight play productions with larger or multigenerational casts, and family-friendly or classic repertoire. All ACT Mainstage productions are presented exclusively in the Sue E. Trotter Black Box Theatre at The Arts Center.
