9 TO 5 (1980)

Fed up with unfair treatment and harassment, three workers (Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Dolly Parton) kidnap their lecherous boss and run the business their way. For all of 9 to 5’s slapstick energy, its protagonists’ pursuit of equal treatment and pay was timely, arriving the same year the government issued its first guidelines on sexual harassment. More than three decades later, it’s still hilarious—and all too relevant.
