9/11 Memorial Stair Climb Challenge at Monument Terrace

Freedom Defense Group is hosting a 6th annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Challenge at Monument Terrace in Downtown Lynchburg on Saturday, September 12th at 9:00 a.m. We invite our community to join us!
Be on the lookout for our 2026 custom tee design to release in the summer!
All proceeds go directly to public safety/first responder charities. Tees can be shipped directly to you or you can select local pick-up at checkout and get them the morning of the challenge.
We will be climbing the equivalent of 2,071 stairs to honor the sacrifice of FDNY firefighters, PAPD, NYPD, EMS, and all first responders and military who protect us from threats here at home and abroad.
The challenge equates to 14 times up and down the complete stairs at Monument Terrace. A standard time of completion for this challenge is 45 minutes.
We will meet at the bottom of the stairs and start our climb together at 9:00 a.m.
FDG will hand out small American flags and have water & snacks available.
