Remembering is something we choose to do together.
This year marks twenty-five years since September 11, 2001. Time has passed, but the responsibility to remember has not.
For many, September 11 is a day they still remember in vivid detail. For others, especially younger generations, it is a chapter in history they know through the stories of those who lived it. Gathering as a community helps ensure those stories, the sacrifices made, and the lessons learned continue to be shared.
We invite you to join us on Saturday, September 5, at Fire Station 183 for our annual 9/11 Memorial Pancake Breakfast. The morning begins with a Flag Raising Ceremony at 8:00 a.m., followed by a brief memorial service honoring those whose lives were forever changed.
After the memorial, we invite you to stay for breakfast, spend time with your neighbors, meet the firefighters and first responders who serve our community, explore fire and police apparatus, enjoy public safety demonstrations, visit the kids area, and purchase merchandise. Donations from the event benefit United Goodyear Firefighter Charities, helping support members of our local community in need.
