Join Grand Traverse Metro Fire Department as we commemorate the 25th Anniversary of September 11, 2001.
Together, we will honor the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of the first responders who answered the call that day, remember the innocent lives that were lost, and pay special tribute to the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in the deadliest day in the history of the American fire service.
As the nation pauses to remember, we invite our community to gather with us to reflect, honor, and ensure that we Never Forget.
Guests are welcome to begin arriving at 8:00 a.m. The Remembrance Ceremony will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at approximately 9:00 a.m. Following the ceremony, coffee and doughnuts will be provided courtesy of our friends at the Salvation Army.
While visiting the memorial, we invite you to Adopt-A-Hero by sponsoring one of the 343 fallen firefighters whose name is permanently engraved on a commemorative paver at the GT 9/11 Memorial Park. Your donation will help complete the final phases of the memorial, ensuring this place of remembrance continues to educate and inspire future generations.
