8x8 Framed Holiday Kinusaga (Painting with Fabric)
Create a beautiful set of three seasonal fabric-art pieces using Kinusaga-inspired fabric techniques. In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to transform small pieces of patterned fabric into dimensional artwork—no sewing machine required.
Choose from three charming designs: Santa, a Winter Snowman, and a Cardinal. Each project combines coordinating fabrics, layered shapes, and carefully finished edges to create a polished piece ready to display in a white frame.
What You’ll Learn
During the workshop, you’ll learn how to transfer a design onto your base, select and coordinate fabric patterns to samples, cut fabric accurately, create clean curved and detailed shapes, tuck and finish fabric edges, layer pieces for dimension, and assemble your completed artwork for framing.
The techniques taught can also be used to create your own Kinusaga-inspired designs after the class.
Choose Your Design
Santa — A festive Santa surrounded by snowy blues and a winter evergreen. His dimensional beard, mustache, hat, and patterned red coat make this a wonderful Christmas centerpiece.
Cardinal — A brilliant red cardinal perched on a branch against a blue sky and golden sun. Layered wings, leaves, and landscape pieces make this design especially striking.
Snowman — A cheerful snowman with twig arms, patterned scarf, top hat, and patchwork snow-covered hills. A fun winter design that can stay on display beyond Christmas.
Workshop Includes
Your workshop kit includes the pattern for your selected design, prepared project base, coordinated patterned fabrics, and the materials needed to complete the Kinusaga-inspired fabric artwork. No sewing experience is necessary.
