The Ride-On 4 Carrie is hitting the ground running for next year and is excited to announce the first of our three events for 2025... Back for it's 8th year, it's one of yours (and ours) favorite Sunday-Fundays of the winter ~ The RO4C Spaghetti Dinner!We're sticking with our decision to hold this event on the first Sunday after the Super Bowl so be sure to mark your calendar correctly for Sunday, February 16th, 2025... With the continued growth and success of this yearly kick-off event, we're really looking forward to having you join us for another fantastic day of food, fun, fellowship and fundraising... Let's make 2025 your year to become a new supporter or to step-up your involvement!
Our beneficiary for this event is 38 yo Amanda Dols-Zimpfer ~ Amanda and her husband Peter have been together since 2003 and just this last November, only a short five months after giving birth to their first child Benjamin, was shockingly diagnosed with stage 3, triple negative breast cancer... First hope was that it may have been some type of an infection. However, after multiple images, labs, and biopsies, their worst fears were confirmed when the phone call came with Amanda's life changing diagnosis... In Amanda's words:
"My happiness of being a new mom escaped me like air from a balloon... I keep thinking how this can't be my life right now and how this isn't fair ~ I'm supposed to be enjoying the wonders of motherhood and raising my now 5 month old son, who deserves and needs his mother to be present, in the moment, and able to fulfill his needs ~ We have been robbed! To those reading this, please trust your instincts and don't ignore any random bumps that appear on your breast or anywhere else ~ As I have now learned, it just may be life threatening... I am starting my chemo soon and I pray that with my family, faith, and caregiver's guidance, that I will battle through this ~ I want more than anything to be with my baby and to watch him grow".
