Gallery 246 and First Community Bank invites artists and art lovers to the 8th Annual Plein on Main Competition, October 7-11 in Batesville, AR. For artists, we have a workshop, plein air painting, over $2,500 in prize money, and a gallery show. For the public, Plein on Main Competition art show Preview Party on Friday, October 10, 5-7:30pm at the Hail Building on 231 E. Main Street. Event is free with light fair and spirited refreshments but please RSVP by calling (870) 262-8066. Competition art show will also be open to the public on October 11 from 10am-4pm, during Batesville Area Art Council's Artoberfest. October 7 - 6pm Artists Welcome Dinner on Main Street hosted by Gallery 246.
October 8 - Duane Hada Workshop with lunch 9am-2pm. Competition painting begins at 2pm.
October 9 - Competition painting all day. 6pm dinner for artists and host families
October 10 - Competition painting until 2pm. Artwork submitted for judging at 2pm. 5:30pm Plein on Main Festival Preview Party on Main Street. 6:30pm Judge announces winners of $2,500 in prizes and art sales are promoted.
October 11 - Plein Air Competition Artwork open to the public 10am-4pm. People's Choice Award given at 4pm. Artists are welcome to paint for fun on Main Street around the Batesville Area Arts Council's "Artoberfest".
