MissionThe mission of the Charter Cup Fishing Tournament is for local businesses and charter fishing boats to come together to raise money for local charities in need of funding.
About
This is an invitation-only, one-day event where each major business sponsor coordinates fundraising efforts with their assigned charity. Major business sponsors are responsible for fundraising for their charity, securing their own charter boat, and submitting the major business sponsor entry fee. The 2024 sponsor fee is $5,000. Each charity will be assigned one or two major business sponsors. If a charity has two sponsors, the sponsors are able to split the cost and submit $2,500 each. Once the entry fees are submitted, sponsors will coordinate directly with their assigned charity to formulate a fundraising plan. The goal is for each charity to raise a minimum of $15,000 which includes the $5,000 entry fee.
The 8th Annual Charter Cup Fishing Tournament will take place on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Baxter’s Fish ‘N Chips, Hyannis. Since its 2017 inception, the Charter Cup Fishing Tournament has raised $1,640,647 dollars. The tournament gives 100% of funds raised to participating non-profit groups that provide much needed services including emergency flights for critically ill patients, physical/mental fitness for people in recovery, and programs for physically/mentally challenged adults. It also supports children fighting cancer, early childhood education, local law enforcement efforts, at-risk youth programs, affordable housing projects, quality programs designed to empower youth, and affordable healthcare for diabetics. The day ends with a ceremony at Baxter’s Fish ‘N Chips that includes a weigh-in, awards, lunch, and a live auction.
