The Driftless Historium (100 S 2nd St) needs your help choosing the 2026 Flavor of the Year! This ice cream will a site-exclusive, can’t-get-it-anywhere-else sweet treat. Community feedback is requested via an upcoming taste testing, to be held on-site on Tuesday, April 21 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. NOTE: We will serve until supplies run out. This is a popular event, so we suggest coming earlier rather than later.
FREE; all are welcome; registration not required. Our selfless volunteer tasters will sample six unique ice creams concocted by UW-Platteville Dairy Science students, record their observations and rank their favorites.
The 2026 theme is “America the Beautiful!”, with students challenged to create ice creams inspired by the 250th anniversary of the signing of United States Constitution. During the April 21 tasting, the student creators will be on hand to answer questions about ingredients and the production process.
The winning flavor will be announced on May 01, 2026.
This is the eighth annual collaboration between the Driftless Historium and UW-Platteville’s Dairy Sciences Program and Director Dr. Tera Montgomery.
