As previously announced, the 2026 Reunion and Annual Meeting will be held in Huntsville, Alabama from October 7-11, 2026. Ron and Janet Johnson have put a great event together for us.
We will be staying at the Embassy Suites, with easy walking through Big Spring Park and the downtown area. The hotel offer includes free breakfast, free wireless internet, free parking, and a nightly Manager’s Reception with light snacks and two free drinks per person. There is no hotel shuttle from the airport, but Uber, Lift, and Taxi are available.
We have negotiated a room rate of $149 per night (Wed – Sun morning) plus taxes and fees (currently 15% tax and a $2 fee per night). Subject to availability, the hotel will honor the negotiated room rate for the two days prior to and after the reunion for those that want to come early or stay longer. Please make your room reservations as soon as possible, especially if you want to come early or stay longer. Wednesday evening, we will kick things off with a Happy Hour/Reception in the Orion Room at the Embassy Suites.
Thursday will feature a full afternoon and early evening at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center with guided tours of the Museum and the Planetarium, and a dinner at the Davidson Center Biergarten (US Space and Rocket Center) Thursday evening, after dinner, we’ll return to the hotel and have time to socialize in the Orion Room. Big Spring Park is right outside the hotel and offers an excellent Fall evening walking environment Tripadvisor.com Big Spring Park.
Friday We will visit the Huntsville Veterans Memorial Museum (Tripadvisor Huntsville Veterans Memorial Museum) and the Signals Museum (Signals Museum). Lunch will be your choice of many restaurants in Downtown Huntsville (a list and map will be provided). After lunch, we will briefly visit the downtown Huntsville Madison County Veterans Memorial Huntsville Veterans Memorial. We should return to our hotel by 4:30pm for rest and relaxation. Dinner is on your own; you can choose the hotel restaurant directly adjacent to the Orion Room or one of the many restaurants within walking or short driving distance from the hotel. Subject to change, On Friday evening Big Spring Park will feature a free outdoor movie and a food truck corral.
Saturday, we will have our Annual Association Meeting, and then the rest of the day will be free for you to visit other venues in the area. The Madison County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau will provide a welcome packet with maps and flyers for local areas of interest and businesses. Of course, our hospitality room will be open for those who just wish to hang around. Our annual Reunion banquet will be held in the Orion Room at 6:30pm.
Once the details of transportation, the Wednesday reception and our dinner on Saturday are finalized we will be sending out the registration form.
