80s Adventure Series: The Secret of NIMH
About this Event
🎬🍕
Join us at the Eureka Theater for our 80s Adventure Series! The finale is an animated masterpiece you won't forget.
📅 August 5 – The Secret of NIMH
About the movie:
Mrs. Brisby is a timid field mouse. Her son is sick with pneumonia. The farmer's plow is coming. And her only hope lies in a mysterious group of rats – escaped lab subjects from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) – who possess human-like intelligence, advanced technology, and a dark secret. Don Bluth (who left Disney to make this) created something stunning. The animation is rich, shadowy, and beautiful. The story is thrilling and surprisingly dark for a kids' film. The voice cast (including the great John Carradine as Nicodemus) is legendary. This is a film about a mother who will do anything to save her family. It's brave. It's sad. It's breathtaking. On the big screen, the amulet glowing, the Great Owl, the sword fight, the cinderblock moving – it's all unforgettable. Stunning then. Stunning now.
