8 Weeks of Fan Flow Arts Workshops

Do you want to add more fan tricks to your toolkit and learn how to incorporate them into your natural flow rhythm? This 8-week workshop series is for you!

Following the framework of the 4 elements, we will be diving into Fan Fundamentals, Spins, Weaves, and Stage Presence as they relate to the Earth, Water, Air, and Fire elements.

This workshop series is most suitable for beginners & intermediate flow artists. Small class sizes (limited 8 per class) allow for personalized instruction & guidance depending on where you're at in your experience with fans.

An overview of the lessons is as follows...

Weeks 1 & 2 (Oct 12th & 19th) EARTH: Fundamentals, Geometry, Shapes in Space

Weeks 3 & 4 (Oct 26th & Nov 2nd) WATER: In-Spins, Anti-Spins, Flowers

Weeks 5 & 6 (Nov 9th & 16th) AIR: Weaves on Hips, Shoulders, and Head

Weeks 7 & 8 (Nov 23rd & 30th) FIRE: Stage Presence, Accessing Flow State, Self Expression

While the foundation of these workshops is to teach attendees new fan tricks, there will also be a heavy emphasis throughout the 8-weeks on personal stylization, free-flow practice, and breaking down the barrier of concentrating on the tricks. Making the tricks a part of your natural flow & movement is the goal of these classes.

Like all skills, practice makes progress so students are encouraged to make use of the time between classes to practice & hone these skills. Don't own fans? We've got you covered!

Pricing

8 classes ($25/hr) = $200

4 classes ($30/hr) = $120

Drop-in's = $35 Each

Fan Rentals* = $35 for 8 weeks (take-home) or $5/class

*Students may take advantage of the 8-week take-home fan rentals regardless of how many classes they take.

*Students are required to pay a deposit of $120 up front for the fans if they're taking them home with $85 reimbursed when the fans are returned.

About your instructor

Siren of the Elements is a renowned performance artist in the Lower Mainland who specializes in sharing the magic of movement, music, and elements. She's spent the last 4 years dazzling audiences with her skillful & stunning fan flow and has become well known for her weekly fire residency at D6 Bar and Lounge, a variety of local shows, and her performance arts feature at Bass Coast Festival in 2023. Siren is a very active community builder and over the last 2 years has become the go-to instructor for fan flow arts and fire-dancing initiations in Vancouver BC.
