All Things Considered Theatre Presents 8 Hours There and Back
Our lives are timed around phone calls and visits that clash with our footy practice, dance classes, mate’s birthday parties, school lessons… We move house and live with our nans, granddads, aunties and uncles. We go to school and dodge looks and questions, what did they do? How long did they get? Have you seen them? We get our heads down, try to get good marks, stay out of trouble, blend in, be normal…
8 Hours There and Back follows the stories of Ruby, Jake and Grace as they navigate a world that they shouldn’t be in and a judicial system that has forgotten about them.
"I mean it is like, horrible for the person that's gone because... obviously there’s all different types of people in prison... but like... it's the family that’s got to live with it on the outside and... the outside... is a lot bigger."
Inspired by the real-life testimonies of children and young people who have a parent in prison and told through a fusion of theatre, dance and projections, 8 Hours There and Back examines how a system set up by adults is failing the children.

ADMISSION: Pay What You Can.
Pay What You Can is an ‘honesty box’ for the theatre. We and the artists will continue to programme and produce high quality events and ask you to pay what you can afford.
As a guide, for those in full time employment we would appreciate you paying £5-£10. We also understand people's income can be precarious, hence the lower price options. All revenue from ticket sales for events at New Adelphi Theatre will always go back to support professional artists, through residencies, commissions, touring work or for more bespoke projects where the student experience is enhanced through co-creation with arts professionals. We thank you for all your continued support.
Please note all bookings come with a 50p-60p booking fee. Please note that all tickets are for unallocated seating.
Please note: checking the Wheelchair User question will also reserve a free seat for an essential companion.

When you arrive, the Box Office only needs to take the ticketholder’s name to check you in, however we can also scan any printed ticket or e-ticket you may present.
