🎯 Arizona Armed Guard Annual Refresher Course

For Current Arizona Licensed Armed Security Guards

Stay certified and sharp with this DPS-required annual refresher course for Arizona Armed Guards. This session includes both the 8-hour written test and firearms requalification—delivered in a focused, outdoor setting.

📍 Location & Meeting Instructions

• Meeting Point: Side of the road at 11900 N. Sanders Road, Marana, AZ

• Instructor: Carl Thornton – 📞 520-834-0389

• After meeting, we’ll proceed down the dirt road to the Marana Shooting Club, an outdoor range.

• Dress appropriately for the weather—there is no shade. Hats and sunscreen are strongly recommended.

🕒 Schedule & Duration

• Written Test:

• Range Qualification: 1–4 hours (varies by group size)

• Confirm your start time by contacting Carl directly

🧾 What to Bring

• Lunch, snacks, and beverages (water/soda)

• Firearm: 9mm or higher (.40, .45, etc.)

• Level 2 duty holster or better

• Two extra magazines with mag belt carrier

• 100 rounds of ammunition (allows for a re-try if needed)

• Eye and ear protection

• Hat and sunscreen

• Jacket (in cooler weather)

🎯 Qualification Standards

• DPS Requirement: 70% accuracy (175 points)

• LionHeart Standard: 90% accuracy (225 points)

• All shots must remain on the silhouette, even if outside the scoring zone
