About this Event
On April 25, 2007 the founder of the Still I birthed Foundation, Cherese Akers, delivered her first child, Taylor, stillborn. With very little familiarity with stillbirths left her uneasy, afraid, and alone. Life changing! After educating herself and doing a lot of research on the topic, it still took her10 years to speak out about losing Taylor. Safe to say she hasn't stopped telling her story and bringing awareness to the taboo topic of pregnancy and infant loss.
The purpose of this walk of remembrance and awareness is for families and loved ones who may have experienced any form of pregnancy or infant loss to be able to publicly remember their child and for some of them to speak out about their loss. The idea that 1 in 4 women will experience pregnancy or infant loss is so significant that more awareness needs to be made around this topic. We are a community that is so often forgotten and overlooked as well as our angels. We've stopped being silent and we've been speaking out and consistently telling the world, I have a baby in heaven and it hurts just like any form of loss.
On October 26, 2024, we will walk to spread awareness, hope, support, and love.
Registration to walk is FREE. If you are interested in a T-shirt they are $20. If you have a design please contact Cherese at [email protected] in advance to ensure sizes are available.
