Friends of Westgate Park is hosting our 7th annual plant swap!Friday 5/8 5:00PM - 7:00 PM: Plant Drop Off! Drop off your plants at the swap location. We'll organize them and get them ready for the swap the next day. Bring your plants in a container that you don't mind parting with, and label the plants with the name, color, and light preference.
Saturday, 5/9 10:00 AM-12:00 PM: Time to Swap! Come back to the swap location and pick out some new plants! You can also bring plants the morning of the swap. We plan to have coffee and light snacks available.
If you have no plants to share but would like to take one home, please consider a donation to Friends of Westgate Park as ‘payment’ for the plants. We can accept cash, card (via Square) Venmo, and PayPal, and all funds raised will go toward Westgate Park improvements.
Examples of plants that work well for a swap: hostas, irises, black-eyed susans, ornamental grasses, sedum, purple coneflower, most native perennials, etc. Houseplants are welcome as well!
Any unclaimed plants at the end of the swap will be composted.
Swap is outdoors (rain or shine) in a private front yard; there is no restroom available.
Parking for the day of the swap is available along Parkside Rd and the large parking lot near the park. **Please do not park on Brinker Ave between Parkside & Sullivant Ave - parking reserved for fire department and roadway access used for large ladder trucks.**
The swap is only as good as the variety of plants provided, so please share this event with anyone who might be interested.
ALL are welcome; you do NOT need to be a Westgate resident to participate!
