Ellanor C. Lawrence Park (ECLP) Friends invite you to the seventh annual ParktoberFest on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 12 to 5 p.m. at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park. The event takes place on the lawn of the historic Middlegate House beside Cabell’s Mill, (opposite The Woodlands Stewardship Education Center) located at 5235 Walney Road in Centreville, Va.
Highlights of this year’s FREE community event include:
- Live Music: Fan favorite The Walkaways, joined this year by singer/songwriter Jay Byrd
- Craft Brews: Raise a glass with craft brews from local favorite Ono Brewery
- Food Trucks: Come hungry. Burgorilla and Spinners Deli will be serving up festival favorites
- Local Makers & More: Shop from more than 20 local makers, bakers and artisans, and browse a selection of fall plants and florals.
- Family Fun: New this year, the Fairfax County Park Authority Wonder Wagon will roll into ParktoberFest with interactive fun for kids and families. ECLP staff will also lead fun-filled crafts and activities designed to get young visitors exploring, creating and enjoying the park.
- Be a Friend of ECLP: Stop by the ECLP Friends booth to purchase merchandise, learn about upcoming programs and initiatives, find out how to volunteer, and discover ways to support the park.
Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket and chairs, claim a spot on the lawn and make an afternoon of it—whether that means enjoying the live music, browsing local vendors, sharing a meal with friends, letting the kids dive into the activities or all of the above. ParktoberFest is designed to be enjoyed at an unhurried pace, with plenty of room to relax, reconnect and soak up the season. Leashed pets are welcome!
Parking & Transportation: Free parking is available at the Woodlands Stewardship Education Center, the lot beside Walney Pond, and the Walney Visitor Center (with a short trail walk to Cabell’s Mill). Walking and biking to the site are especially encouraged!
ParktoberFest is organized and sponsored by the Ellanor C. Lawrence Park Friends, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, 100% volunteer organization dedicated to protecting and preserving our park—and our planet.
