🚨 🚨 Everyone!!! The time is finally here! Our 7th annual Guns and Hoses game between the Minot Fire Department and Minot Police Department is officially scheduled for April 19th at 3 PM on the Pepsi Rink at the MAYSA Arena. 🚨 🚨
Our game this year will help raise funds for Tyanna Weeks. This amazing young woman survived a head on collision with a drunk driver. Here is her incredible story of resiliance:
Tyanna was a senior in high school when she survived a head on collision with a drunk driver Jan 31, 2024. She went through an emergency lifesaving surgery to relieve pressure from her brain. 8 other surgeries followed in time, some of those to repair the many broken bones she suffered.
After spending 1 month in the ICU she was transferred to a brain rehab facility in CO. This is where she learned to eat, speak and walk again.
Tyanna’s injuries have left her with many medical appointments for an unforeseen amount of time. She has weekly appointments for therapies such as PT, OT, vision and speech.
She will forever live with a severe traumatic brain injury and has permanent loss of peripheral vision. Her left hand will never work as it used to, because of this more surgeries will be needed to relieve contractures. She is expecting another surgery this summer at Mayo in hopes of some additional function. She will also spend a week in MN at a specialty clinic for brain injuries to help further her recovery.
