7th Annual Fair Lane Firecracker 5K Run/Walk

What started out as a Covid 4th of July 5k is now back for its 7th year! You're invited to the Fair Lane Firecracker 5K Run/Walk. Saturday, July 4th 8:30 am start time with the traditional patriotic songs before.
Start/finish line 1858 Fair Lane, Greenleaf. The 5k/3.1 mile course utilizes the Fox River Trail for 1 mile. The last half mile has a .3 mile hill. Plan the hill into your predicted time.
This will be a prediction run/walk. You will predict and write down your finish time before the race starts.
Run/walk without a watch.
The person closes to their predicted time is the winner, not the person who crosses the finish line first. You will be asked to cover the face of your watch or take your watch off for the event so there is no cheating.
A new age group winner is added for this year.
Age 18 and above
Age 18 and below (have to be walk or running the event)
If you are wearing RED, WHITE and BLUE (on the outside of your body) you will get 5 sec. credited to your time.
Bottled water will be available in a cooler at the bench on the trail by Fair Rd. around the 1.5 mile mark. The course is unsupported, run/walk at your own risk. Be aware of traffic.
Please park your vehicle to the north of the start/finish line.
The event is free. If you would like you can bring a post race snack to share.
