7th Annual Canines Against Cancer Support Walk
We're walking to support cancer survivors—and we'd love for you to join us!
For many survivors, the hardest part begins after treatment ends. The medical appointments become less frequent, but the emotional, physical, and financial challenges often remain. That's where Each Moment We're Alive (EMWA) steps in.
Like our loyal canine companions who offer unconditional comfort, EMWA provides free survivorship programs, live support groups, educational workshops, one-on-one guidance, and a private online community where survivors can connect with others who truly understand. Even during the pandemic, when many support services paused, EMWA continued showing up every week because no one should have to navigate survivorship alone.
Event Highlights
Bring the whole family—including your four-legged friends—for an evening filled with fun, inspiration, and community!
🐾 Casual scenic trail walk
🌭 Freshly grilled hamburgers and hot dogs by the Beavers Club
🎶 Live music by CO2 Acoustic Music Duo—two Correctional Officers who share their love of music with the community
🏒 Special appearance by BOOMER, the Springfield Thunderbirds' beloved mascot
🎯 Family games and activities
🎟️ Raffles and prizes
💜 Survivor celebration and community connection
👕 Exclusive 2026 Canines Against Cancer T-shirts and merchandise available for purchase
Registration
A $15 tax-deductible donation includes:
One meal voucher for a freshly grilled hamburger/cheeseburger or hot dog prepared by the Beavers Club
Access to all event activities
The opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of cancer survivors throughout our community
Every registration, sponsorship, and donation helps EMWA continue providing sponsor-funded tools, education, and live support at no cost to cancer survivors and their families.
