7D7D is a Los Angeles based band comprised of Tim Commerford (bass), Mathias Wakrat (drums) and Jonny Polonsky (guitar).
Since releasing their debut single Capitalism on Black Friday November 25, 2022, the trio has continued to put out powerful and confrontational songs. All of these songs were recorded in Tim & Mathias' LA studio, while Jonny would add his parts from his NY based studio.
With Jonny having recently relocated to Los Angeles the band began rehearsing and soon after booked their debut gig. Jonny explains, "We’ve been recording music for the last two or three years via email, but since my move from NYC to LA in January, we’ve been practicing pretty steadily. It feels really thrilling to be finally getting out there performing live for the
people."
"It’s exciting to finally hear these songs live, they sound way better than expected", added Mathias. "It’s the most fun music project I’ve ever been a part of for sure."
Tim continued, "I’m proud to be a part of this artistic fighter jet that never stops teaching me. I’m lucky to be with players like Mathias and Jonny. Plus, we’re at war and I need to sing about it."
The band plan to continue to record and release new music, one single at a time - stay tuned!
ABOUT 7D7D
Tim learned the bass and began to channel a tough childhood into
music. By the time he was in his early 20’s he was in Rage Against The Machine. Tim was also in Audioslave (where he met Jonny) and Prophets of Rage.
Mathias was born and bred in France, later meeting Tim after moving to LA, through their shared passion for mountain biking. In 2015 the two formed the trio Wakrat and toured Europe, and with Prophets of Rage.
Tim and Jonny first started writing music together after Audioslave broke up. Jonny had been their guitar tech, but that humble position is deceptive - Jonny was discovered in the 90’s by Rick Rubin and signed to his label American Recordings, and he has also worked with Johnny Cash, Puscifer, David J of Bauhaus, and many others.

DIRTY POWER
🎥
đź”— www.dirty-power.com
Dirty Power is a relentless force in the modern hard rock scene, blending elements of alternative, metal, and punk into a hard hitting and focused sound. With one foot firmly rooted in the rebellious spirit of the past and the other pushing the boundaries of the future, this cross-border trio delivers explosive riffs and raw emotion in equal measure. Their sound is a collision of grooving power Ă la Rage Against the Machine, the gritty songcraft of Nirvana, and the mind-bending tones of progressive legends like Dream Theater and Satriani.
Founded in 2015 by guitarist and vocalist Brendan (DB), Dirty Power has been tearing up stages, studios and screens ever since. Powered by a rotating lineup of hard-hitting drummers and bassists from across the EU and UK, the band thrives on collaboration and creative experimentation. The latest EP, Gravitas, was recorded in a castle on the Southwest Irish coast—Brendan’s ancestral home—where whiskey and wild instincts fuelled their acoustic and most authentic work to date. Teaming up with engineer Tommy O’Sullivan (RTE, The Scratch), the EP was mixed by Ben Wanders (The Scratch, Cranberries) and mastered by Aidan Cunningham (The Scratch, Hermitage Green, Wheatus, Chloe Agnew).
Before Gravitas, Dirty Power dropped their 2020 EP Notions, a riff-driven, high-impact release that made waves despite the global shutdown. With a DIY ethic at its core, the band has always embraced independence, whether it’s in the studio or on tour. Their sound is a fierce blend of big grooves, intricate solos, and sing-along choruses—perfect for mosh pits and fist-pumping catharsis.
For fans of uncompromising rock, Dirty Power is a band that refuses to submit to adversity, always pushing for the next great riff and the next great show. Join the mailing list at dirty-power.com for first access to new tracks, behind-the-scenes content, and updates on what’s next.
