6th Annual Maryland African Diaspora International Women's Day

The Maryland African Chamber of Commerce (MACC) is proud to announce that it will host the 6th Annual Maryland African Diaspora International Women’s Day (IWD 2027) celebration on Friday, March 19, 2027. This signature event will honor and celebrate women who are making significant contributions to community development, leadership, and global impact.

Observed annually on March 8, International Women’s Day is a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It also serves as a powerful call to action for accelerating gender parity and advancing women’s rights across all sectors of society. In alignment with the global IWD 2027 campaign theme, MACC will leverage this platform to raise awareness, champion equality, and celebrate the achievements of women across the African Diaspora and beyond.

Building on the success and statewide expansion of previous editions, the 6th Annual celebration will convene a dynamic, multigenerational audience representing government, corporate organizations, the arts, education, religion, nonprofit institutions, and the broader business community. Special invitations will be extended to First Ladies of African nations, the African Union Ambassador to the United States, members of the African Diplomatic Corps, and representatives from U.S. local, state, and federal government. Attendees will include individuals of both African and non-African descent who are committed to global impact and community advancement.

Highlights of the IWD 2027 celebration will include:
