6ix Sense - Coffee Ceremony
About this Event
Through a traditional African Coffee Ceremony and MJ's artwork, participants will explore their imagination, traditional stories, and leave feeling a bit lighter. The coffee ceremony includes hand roasted coffee and frankincense that will ignite and cleanse the senses. Participants will Time travel into the past, to Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee, through the sense of smell and learn how this ceremony brought a sense of peace to a person by taking a moment to enjoy life and be with community.
About MJ
Monique Julieanna(MJ) is an Artist, Designer, and Storyteller from Toronto. She has a degree in health sciences and is a creative innovator who believes in evolving the culture. Her artistic capabilities are rooted in life experiences, community, and culture. She likes to uplift the masses and showcase her creativity from an African/Caribbean/Hiphop perspective. Her science background gives her a unique view on art where she is able to understand societal setbacks to generate solutions through creativity and style. From 2011-Present MJ has been the Lead Creative for The Next Edition (NXE). NXE is a collective of Black Music Artists that puts together shows, spaces, and public art for a youth audience. MJ roles included: Executive Producer of two Music Albums, Live show Producer, Songwriter, Recording Artist, Visual Artist, and Live Performer. She has created an innovative experience by incorporating music, storytelling, and design into one medium to create an unique moment for her audience. MJ leverages her creative and strategic expertise to create accessible beautiful experiences for all to enjoy. MJ channels her message towards young people. They are the Future, and it is part of our responsibility to make things better for the next generations.
