65bit is back with another electro transmission to awaken the hibernating hive mind. This time with a live set from the high priest himself: Mister Finland!Emerged in the ’80s, born from the heartbeat of the 808. Risen with robots, synthetic sounds, and everything future. Electro – the foundation of all things that make the butt shake.
*Mister Finland LIVE*. The evening’s headliner, Tampere-based producer Peik Erhola, brings his live electro set to Vaasa under the Mister Finland pseudonym. Mister Finland tracks are aimed directly at the dance floor, with classic Roland drum sounds underpinning snake-charmer arpeggios, 303 lines, percussive zaps, and crisp Speak & Spell–style vocal samples.
Mister Finland’s live sound flows from a purpose-built modular synthesizer and classic drum machines. Formulaic, robotic, and euphoric, the sound tickles your brain while it moves your feet. As Funkadelic put it, free your mind and your ass will follow.
*Matlåck*, once a resident DJ of Vaasa nightlife, returns to the city to showcase his turntable skills. 808s shake the dance floor as ticking drum machines and laser zaps lock into a hypnotic rhythm, delivering a set of Detroit-style electro tailored for the evening. Releasing his own productions under the name Lookstare, he’s also a longtime member of the X-Rust Organization and Meltdown Deejays.
*Torolf Stendik*, one of the city’s most prolific artists, continues his explorations into electro. The hit parade he served up at the previous 65bit night returns – guaranteed not to leave you cold. From Miami bass to modern electro, without forgetting the genre’s classics – including IDM and acid – he has also showcased these sounds on his electro mini-album Energi, released earlier this year by Electric Appliances. With releases on countless labels, he’s an active member of both 65Hz and Meltdown Deejays.
*deadroid*, a dystopian electro ambassador, has torn up the dance floor at countless 65Hz events and is also a member of the Meltdown Deejays crew. Expect pressure-driven electro built for dark rooms, not playlists. Fresh off his new Posthuman EP, he’ll be bringing both new material and selections from his own productions. Get ready to turn into a machine in the robot uprising.
