600 Years! - Hildegard to Haydn

Sunday February 2nd 2025 sees the return of Ally Kinder and Lynda Sayce who play in Sounds Historical with, new to WEM, Mary Tyers and Heidi Fardell in a programme entitled 600 Years! Hildegard to Haydn.

Hop into our time machine for a whistle-stop tour of musical history from the medieval through to the 18th century! Recorders, lutes, crumhorns, flutes, viols, violin... fasten your seatbelts as 600 years whizz by in 60 minutes! All carefully researched and arranged, to provide an accessible journey through the changes and developments of music and instruments across 600 years! We speak to our audiences throughout our concerts, keeping our performances inclusive and interactive - including a game of ‘instrument’ bingo! Composers will include Hildegard von Bingen, Isaac, Alfonso X of Castile, Machaut, Dalza, Schlick, Attaignant, Susato, Cima, Simpson, de la Barre, Telemann, and Haydn.
