About this Event
Ever thought about trying improv—but felt a little hesitant?
This 6-week class in Portland is designed to be fun, low-pressure, and beginner-friendly. No experience needed. The atmosphere is supportive and encouraging whole also striving to achieve learning and improvement.
You’ll laugh, loosen up, and get more comfortable thinking on your feet—without being put on the spot in a stressful way.
While it's great for those new to improv, the instructor keeps the class dynamic, innovating and evolving so that those with prior performing or improv experience also find it a very stimulating and productiv experience.
Tuesdays, 7–9 PM (June 9 - July 14)
Portland, ME
$220 total for all 6 classes
THE ONE REGISTRATION DATE (JUNE 9) COVERS THE FULL 6-WEEK COURSE.
You’ll learn through simple games and short exercises that build:
- confidence
- spontaneity
- communication
- and a sense of play
At the end, there’s an optional, relaxed showcase at a small local venue where you can invite friends or just enjoy the experience.
Improvisation leads to increased social skills, personal confidence & happiness.
Your instructor, Adam Groppman, has performed and trained in LA’s comedy scene (Second City, UCB, etc.) and has been running popular improv classes in Portland since 2022, and has had numerous returning students in that time.
His focus is creating a supportive, encouraging environment where people can relax and have fun, and be social while expressing themselves creatively through improvisation.
