5th Cracovian Congress of History Students: Travels & Intercultural Encounters Throughout the Ages

🧑‍🎓 The Jagiellonian University History Students' Association is thrilled to announce that the 5th Cracovian Congress of History Students will take place in Kraków from 15 to 17 April 2027! The Cracovian Congress of History Students is an annual conference held at the Jagiellonian University. Our conference gives students and young researchers a space to present their work, build their academic skills, and connect with peers across history. 🧑‍🏫
⏳ “Travels & Intercultural Encounters Throughout the Ages” — this year’s conference invites us to explore the many ways in which people, ideas, cultures, and communities have encountered one another throughout history. From ancient journeys and pilgrimages to diplomacy, migration, trade, and cultural exchange, we want to examine how movement and encounters have shaped societies across the ages. 🗺️
👩‍🎓 We warmly invite undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students of history and related disciplines to submit paper proposals exploring the diverse experiences and consequences of travel and intercultural encounters throughout history. 🔎

💶 Conference fee:
Participants from Jagiellonian University: 50 €
Participants with accommodation: 92 €
🏨 Accommodation:
Participants using the accommodation option will stay at Easy One Premium Art. The fee includes 4 nights of accommodation and breakfasts. 🛏️🥪

🔹 diplomacy and diplomatic encounters;
🔹 trade and commercial contacts;

🔹 discoveries and expeditions;
🔹 exile and refuge;

🔹 intercultural encounters;
🔹 experiences of travellers and local communities,
🔹 espionage.
Of course, these are only suggestions - feel free to explore the theme of travels and intercultural encounters in your own way!
🏛️ The fee also includes visits to the most famous historical sites in Kraków (one of them being Royal Wawel Castle; the rest are TBA)
🤝 The Congress is organised by the Jagiellonian University History Students’ Association, but more of our partners will be announced soon.
