5th Annual Teeing Off On Liver Disease Fundraiser

Welcome to the 5th Annual Teeing Off On Liver Disease event!

Come join us at Topgolf Pittsburgh for a day of fun and fundraising to support liver awareness and education. All funds raised from this event will support the programs and events led by Liver Education Advocates (formerly NASH kNOWledge), primarily our Liver Disease Support Group on Zoom, School Outreach Program, Hispanic/Latino Programs and Liver Health Ambassador Program.

The afternoon includes 3 hours of golf play, smokehouse BBQ buffet, unlimited non-alcoholic beverages. Alcohol is available for purchase directly through Topgolf servers. Tickets for basket raffle and 50/50 will also be available to purchase at event via cash, check, Venmo, PayPal or card.

This is our only annual fundraiser and accounts for approximately 15% of our annual operating budget so it is a critical event for our ongoing operations so we can do more community-centered educational programs and awareness campaigns/events centered on liver health, especially nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. The proceeds from this event also help us continue to grow our Zoom-based Liver Disease Support Group, enhance efforts in the Hispanic and Latino community with Spanish language materials, and expand the distribution of educational materials for children and families through our School Outreach Program, and expand our footprint with our Liver Health Ambassador Program. All of our resources and materials are provided at no cost…we simply want to get the right information in the hands of those who need it!

100 Million Americans have fatty liver disease; 6 Million children under the age of 14 have fatty liver disease (higher in adolescents), nearly 50% of US Hispanics have fatty liver disease and approximately 80% of people with Type 2 Diabetes have a fatty liver! With these startling (and growing) rates it is likely that you or someone you know is affected.

Our organization was founded by a liver transplant, liver cancer and nonalcoholic cirrhosis patient who went through every stage of fatty liver disease from simple fatty liver to cirrhosis. He founded our organization under the belief that he owes his liver donor the honor of now using his gift of life for good to help others. Our founder, Tony, works full time with no salary and has made it his life mission to help others prevent the path he took and ultimately reduce the need for liver transplants through more awareness and education in the community.
