Five Years Walking Together, Connecting, & Sharing Resources
The 5th Annual RISE Southwest suicide prevention and awareness walk is intended to bring together community members, resources, and messages of hope, help, and healing.
This year, there will be many familiar activities, including:
• Free breakfast and coffee.
• Resource tables with mental health and wellbeing materials.
• Upbeat music and speakers sharing stories focused on resilience.
• A poster craft station for writing positive messages.
• Sidewalk chalk messages and inspiring quotes.
• Bead necklaces with colors symbolizing how suicide has affected participants’ lives.
• A ribbon arch with the names of people being remembered that day.
A new rock painting activity will be added to the schedule and take place in the days leading up to the event.
Residents, neighbors, and visitors are invited to attend, experience community, receive resources, and walk this September.
