Mom’s 5th Annual Remembrance Walk 💙
Sunday, November 8, 2026 | 9:00 AM | Commons Park
It’s hard to put into words that this November marks five years without my mom, Nelly.
Five years of missing her. Five years of wishing she were here for the big moments and the ordinary ones. Five years of learning that grief doesn’t necessarily get smaller. You just learn how to carry it differently.
And somewhere along the way, this walk became part of how I carry mine.
What started as a way to honor my mom has grown into something that means so much more to me. Every year, I look around and see family, friends, kids, pups, and people walking for someone they love and miss. There’s something really special about knowing that for those few miles, none of us are carrying that love or loss alone.
So on November 8th, we’ll walk again. 🍍
Walk for your mom. Your dad. A grandparent. A friend. Someone whose name you still say, whose stories you still tell, and whose love is still very much a part of who you are.
Or simply come walk beside us and support someone who is remembering theirs.
There’s no perfect way to grieve. This day isn’t meant to be sad from beginning to end. We’ll laugh. We’ll share stories. We’ll probably cry a little. We’ll hug. And most importantly, we’ll remember.
For me, I’ll be walking for my mom, Nelly. Five years later, I still see pieces of her everywhere, and I know the love she gave us didn’t leave when she did. 💙🤍
