5th Annual MOV Trunk or Treat

The 5th Annual MOV Trunk or Treat event will be held at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Marietta Ohio. The event will have a variety of activities including trick-or-treating food vendors DJ entertainment and costumes are encouraged but not required. The event is free for both participants and attendees.

Some of you may know me and some of you may not that’s okay. My name is Kassandra Erb and I am a momma of 2 I’m also a nurse and I love doing stuff and helping out the community. I have put this on the past 4 years out of the kindness of my own heart and do this off of donations and my own money. I want kids to be able to enjoy trick or treating. Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday of the year if you know me you know how much I love horror. 

I couldn’t be more thankful to partner with the Washington county Fair Board the past few years allowing us to use this location. I know a lot of you might think that Trunk Or Treats ruin it for the kids but in all honesty how many blocks do you walk these days trying to trick-or-treat with your kids and only a couple houses on each block are passing out candy and your kids get upset or tired from walking so far. Or you have to worry about the safety of your children and possibly walking up to an unsafe house. There’s just so many scary things that happen these days with kids and they happen an instant. Like I said I am a mom of two I want my kids to have a great time but also be safe as well as all of yours. This event not only makes it easier to keep an eye on your children but people that participate in this event are good people and would never want to harm your children. 

Each year we’ve gotten bigger and better with what’s provided at this event. There’s always a few hundred kids or more that show up to trick-or-treat and that is rain or shine. The past few years it has poured the rain down but we still put on the event and the kids still came and participated. I’m planning to have the event earlier in the day this year so we don’t have to worry about the dark. There are so many different participants that come to this event I can’t even name them all. We’ve had community action donate coats and shoes dentists give out toothbrushes libraries have passed out books. Each year there’s just so many different things. We have food vendors DJ Entertainment and people who love cosplay that just come to walk around so the kids can enjoy costumes. There is a Jeep club that comes and does an awesome job decorating and they actually compete with each other to win the best decorated each year so you know they are giving it their all. 

We encourage the wearing of costumes and the decorating of cars/tables. This makes the event so much more fun for the kids but it is not required. 

This is free for everyone who participates in passing out candy as well as the kids who are there to trick-or-treat.
