United We Run. United We Remember. United We Celebrate.
Join Black Arts & Ideas: Festival Series for our Juneteenth race event as we come together in unity, remembrance, and celebration.
This race is more than miles. It is a public statement that freedom is not only something we remember — it is something we continue to walk, run, protect, and celebrate together.
This year, we run in honor of Mrs. Opal Lee, known as the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” whose decades-long campaign helped make Juneteenth a federal holiday. Her journey reminds us that freedom requires persistence, courage, and community.
As Lindsay Bisset said so powerfully:
“Freedom is a journey we take together as a country, and this race is a reminder of our commitment together.”
Juneteenth is a holiday for all Americans, and this race is a meaningful way for people of every background to show unity, honor history, and celebrate the ongoing journey toward freedom.

New This Year: Soul Food Delights by Chef Imma
We are excited to announce that Chef Imma will be joining us this year, offering soul food delights for purchase at the race.
The Imma Chef Difference
Born in Italy and raised in a family where recipes were passed down like heirlooms, Chef Imma brings generations of culinary wisdom to every plate.
This is not just cooking — it is storytelling through food.
Unlike standard catering or pre-made menus, Chef Imma creates a personalized culinary experience rooted in flavor, memory, culture, and care. Every dish, every combination, and every presentation is thoughtfully created to offer something meaningful and delicious.
So come ready to run, walk, cheer, celebrate — and enjoy good food in community.
Let’s honor Juneteenth.
Let’s honor Mrs. Opal Lee.
Let’s show Chattanooga what unity looks like.
Register, participate, volunteer, or come out and support. Freedom is a journey — and we take it together.
