You are invited to the 5th Annual Heglar Open, a no-pressure, fun-filled pickleball tournament supporting a great cause – the Kure Beach Fire Department. This event honors Harold Heglar, the town’s longest-serving fire chief, and brings together our community for a day of camaraderie, friendly competition, and support.📅 Date: Saturday, October 4, 2025 (Rain date: October 5th)
📍 Location: Joe Eakes Park – K Avenue & S 7th Ave, Kure Beach, NC
💲 Entry Fee: $45 per person (all proceeds benefit the Kure Beach Fire Department)
How it works:
Grab a partner! Teams must be comprised of either two women, or one woman and one man (no two-man teams allowed).

Send your entry fee by check (payable to Wick Wickliffe, 417 Fourth Ave. North, Kure Beach, NC 28449) or via Venmo to @Christine-Burrows.
This tournament is designed for fun, friendship, and community support – whether you’re playing for the gold or just for the laughs, everyone is welcome!
