Dare to dash through the deepening dusk. The 5k Nevermore is the third race in our Edgar Allan Poe series, and this year belongs to The Raven.
Entry is $5. That is not a typo.

WHY $5
Racing has gotten expensive, and not everybody is there for a t-shirt. So we cut it to the bone. Five dollars for the 5K. Five dollars for the Kids Mile. A parent and a kid can both race for ten dollars total.

Finisher medal
Age group awards in 5-year increments
Chip-timed 5K course
Timed Kids Mile
Want the shirt? A tri-blend tee and a long sleeve are available as add-ons at registration. Take one or take neither.
THE KIDS MILE
One mile at 5:40 p.m., run in the last of the good daylight and finished before the trail goes dark. Timed, so young runners get a real result to take home. Every finisher gets a medal.
COSTUMES
There is a Best Costume award. Ravens, ghosts, black cats, or whatever is already in the closet. October 24 is close enough to Halloween that the costume is half the point.
The 5K goes off at 6:30, which puts most finishers on the line right at dusk. It is the best hour of the day to run and the most fitting one for Poe.
Price increases after October 23.
